Between 30 May and 4 June 2022, a group of international scholars and students from Morocco, the Netherlands and the UK gathered together in the Oasis of Figuig, in Morocco, to develop, with local people, scenarios of sustainability and resiliency for the town.
The research project focused on the risk of climate change on the fragile ecosystem of the Oasis developing a series of visions around the following themes: culture and inclusion, water management, climate-resilient public space and smart heritage. The preliminary results of the workshop have been collected in an instant book. The work is part of the broader research project ILAUD for the Mediterranean which aims to contribute to find suitable analytical tools and tentative solutions for this region of the world, affected by problems of socio-economic decline and increasing global warming.
